/ world today news/ At any moment, the BNB and the government are expected to announce what they will do with KTB so that the bank can open its doors on July 21.
The main scheme, which, according to experts, has been consulted with Brussels, is not to bankrupt the treasury, but to transfer its healthy business and deposits to a new bank – owned by the state. This is expected to be KTB’s current subsidiary “Credi Agricol”, reports “Trud”.
Only bad loans will remain in KTB, the assets of which will be sold off in bankruptcy proceedings.
The state is expected to capitalize “Credi Agricol” with BGN 2-3 billion, and will additionally provide liquidity to cover the deposit base if it is withdrawn.
The funds will come from the Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund and from issuing new external debt.
Urgent legislative changes are needed to implement the scheme, which are expected to go through parliament next week.
