In his extensive musical career as a bagpiper, Anxo Lorenzo has participated in recordings and concerts, collaborating with great artists and top-level folk bands, such as Kathryn Tickell, Carlos Núñez, Lúnasa, The Chieftains, Gwendal, Fred Morrison, Daimh, Michael McGoldrick, Alisdair Fraser , Celtas Cortos…. And with his band or trio he has taken to the stages of the most important festivals in the European Celtic world, such as Celtic Connections, WOMAD, Lorient, Ortigueira, Cambridge Folk Festival, Labadoux, Willian Kennedy International Piping Festival, Interceltico do Morrazo, Pardiñas, Zas, Getxo Folk or Piping Live, always getting good reviews from both the attending public and the folk and traditional artists who attend these festivals, achieving very interesting musical connections.
Some of them have been reflected in collaborations on their albums, such as Jarlath Henderson, Blackie O’Connell, Ross Ainslie, Andy May, Germán Díaz or Ali Levack, among others.
In addition to its more traditional side, artists of the most varied musical styles have requested the
collaboration of Anxo with the Galician bagpipe, such as Marta Sánchez in the tune of the return to Spain 2016, Mónica Molina, Ska-p, The National Jazz Orchestra or Amistades Peligrosas, achieving a natural fusion of the Galician bagpipe with other musical styles and opening new horizons within the musical avant-garde as he already demonstrated in his first debut album of electronic fusion with Spiritu (986) – BMG (2000).
In his new show, Anxo Lorenzo takes a tour of the best of his 4 albums
including songs by Spiritu (986), Tirán, Confuxon and Vortex creating a brutal live show with moments
magical and unique musicals accompanied by his great band, made up of:
