KONTAN.CO.ID – KUALA LUMPUR. Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said he would “leave it to the King’s best decision” after opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim claimed to have majority parliamentary support to form a new government.
Muhyiddin stated that his focus now is to manage the new corona virus pandemic and the economy. “I don’t want to comment on Anwar’s actions at the Palace,” he said, Tuesday (13/10), as quoted Channel News Asia.
“As far as I know, I leave it to the best judgment of the Agong (King). In my opinion, Agong is the most educated and qualified person. He has his own way of doing things according to the provisions of the constitution,” he said.
Muhyiddin added: “Whatever decision he will make, he will always follow what is in the constitution”.

Muhyiddin spoke to the press via video conference because he is currently under home quarantine for 14 days, after a minister attending a meeting he is chairing tested positive for Covid-19.
He revealed that when Anwar met the king, he was conducting a meeting via video conference with all members of the National Security Council (MKN) to discuss the problem of the corona virus pandemic.
It is appropriate for Muhyiddin to resign
Earlier, Anwar said the King of Malaysia would study relevant documents he had presented regarding lawmakers who supported his efforts to form a new government.
While studying the document, Anwar Ibrahim revealed that King Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah would consult with leaders of various political parties in neighboring countries.
