Vice President of MUI Anwar Abbas highlighting the viral action of a man hacking money read by Nadia Hawasyi who was reading the Quran at an event in Pandeglang, Banten. Anwar called this attitude inappropriate.
“The only question is how to give it to the person concerned, is it allowed in inappropriate and impolite ways? Of course not, because we are expected to be able to respect reciters and reciters as well as the Al-Qur’an they read,” he said Anwar quoted by BetweenThursday (5/1/2023).
He saw the behavior of someone who yelled at him and threw money around showing arrogance. These actions, Anwar said, are clearly against Islam.
“On the second man, he is seen to have put and slipped the money he gave to the hijab worn by the qariah. That action was clearly inappropriate because the qariah was not his mahram,” he said.
