The Dutch police arrested a 34-year-old from Antwerp on Saturday evening after a chase in Roosendaal. The man had nearly two kilograms of dried hemp in his car.

On the Antwerpseweg in Roosendaal, the police wanted to check a car with a Belgian number plate on Saturday evening. “The driver apparently did not like this much and took off,” said a spokesman for the Dutch police.
Just before the Belgian border, the officers were able to stop the car for a check. It soon became apparent why the man wanted to avoid a check: in the car the police found a few bags with dried hemp buds, totaling 1996 grams. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Antwerp, was arrested and taken to the detention center.
“The hemp found, a sum of several hundred euros and his car have been seized for investigation,” said the police. The man was to be questioned again on Sunday.
