A 21-year-old man from Antwerp died in a strange accident in Lier on Friday morning. He ended up under a portable Tiny House. A friend found him, but any help for the young man came too late.

The man is said to have been working on his portable Tiny House near Mallekotstraat in Lier. A Tiny House is a small home with a floor area of maximum 50 square meters, often with wheels underneath so that it can be moved. They regularly stand on vacant lots, with the aim of living there temporarily. Here too, the Tiny House was located on private property.
The man fell under the colossus, but the police and forensic laboratory are still investigating what exactly happened. “It is currently unclear what exactly happened. It was a friend of the man in his twenties who found the victim shortly after half past six on Friday morning and alerted the emergency services,” explains Magalie Der Boven of the local police in Lier.
Ambulance, Mosquito and fire brigade arrived on the scene to free the victim, but all help for the young man came too late. According to the police, everything points to an unfortunate accident.(tdk)
