The Antwerp artist Panamarenko, known for his futuristic water and airplanes, died late last year. His striking home and studio on Biekorfstraat and the statue “Pepto Bismo” on Sint-Jansplein are still eye-catchers in Antwerp-North.
Today, as a tribute, a meter-high mural was presented on the facade of a newspaper store opposite the Panamarenko House. Grafitti artist Yvon Tordoir (Aerosol Kings) found inspiration for his design in the futuristic spacecraft of Panamarenko.
