The company HB Antwerp will cut a 998 carat diamond. He is from the Karowe mine in Botswana.

“This exceptional diamond will be analyzed and cut in Antwerp,” says Margaux Donckier, spokesman for HB Antwerp. “In recent months we have developed special technology to measure, analyze and laser these types of exceptionally large diamonds.”

Last week, HB Antwerp already announced that it can also cut the diamond Sethunya (549 carat), which comes from the same mine. “Thanks to an agreement with Lucara Diamond Corp., the Canadian operator of the Karowe mine, we automatically take off any diamonds larger than 10.8 carats from that mine,” the company said.
