Antonio Brown’s former personal chef claims the vaccination card the Tampa Bay Buccaneers catcher presented to the NFL is fake.
Antonio Brown’s attorney, Sean Burstyn, said the seven-time Pro Bowler is, in fact, inoculated and would be willing to receive his booster shot on live television.
This is fun, right?
Since Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was exposed for misleading others about his vaccination status earlier this month, everyone in the NFL is under even greater scrutiny than before regarding protocols. NFL COVID.
Which makes it the perfect time for a disgruntled former employee to go public with his claims that Brown tried to break those rules.
Steven Ruiz, a Los Angeles chef who temporarily relocated to Florida to work for Brown, told the Tampa Bay Times that Brown’s girlfriend, Cydney Moreau, asked him to obtain fake vaccination cards. The newspaper published a screenshot showing an alleged discussion on the matter via text message.
The Tampa Bay Times confirmed that the text number belonged to Moreau. But he explained to the newspaper that he does not know Ruiz and expressed about the exchange of texts: “That is not true.”
Ruiz, who said he spoke after failing to collect $ 10,000 that Brown allegedly owes him, said he was unable to obtain the false immunization records. However, days before the start of training, Brown showed him a pair of apocryphal vaccination cards that he had been able to buy for himself and Moreau. Ruiz also said he saw personal trainer Alex Guerrero take photos of the cards, presumably to send to the Buccaneers as proof of Brown’s inoculation status, but added that he didn’t think Guerrero knew they were fake.
The Buccaneers would not allow Brown to speak to the newspaper and Guerrero declined to comment.
Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians has said his team is 100% inoculated. After the report came out on Thursday, the team issued a statement. “All vaccination cards were reviewed by Buccaneers staff and no irregularities were observed,” the team said.
Brown’s attorney told ESPN Thursday that Brown is vaccinated.
“If Antonio’s doctors and guidelines call for a booster shot, then at that point, he’ll be happy to do it live on TV and everyone can come watch,” Burstyn said.
Of course, both parties may be telling the truth – that Brown wanted and possibly got fake cards, but that he was ultimately vaccinated.
Brown missed the Buccaneers’ game against the Rams in September after testing positive for COVID earlier that week.
