Antonino Cannavacciuolo could say goodbye to one of the experiences that made him one of the most popular and loved chefs in Italy.
The Chef originally from Vico Equense is now a very successful restaurateur. Its flagship restaurant is Villa Crespi, a starred restaurant that he has been managing together with his wife for over twenty years. In addition to Villa Crespi, the Chef also manages the restaurant Laqua Vineyard in the resort he owns near Pisa and which recently earned the first star, while Villa Crespi received the third star at the end of 2022. Another three stars were won by the other three Laqua bistros scattered throughout Italy and which raised the total earned by the Chef to well 7 place Michelin.
If on the one hand the restaurant business has given the Chef great personal satisfaction, it has also taken away a lot of his private life: Antonino has always said that he having given up on one’s youth, spending endless hours and days in the kitchen instead of leading a carefree life like his peers.
In adulthood though the Chef never stopped, continuing to add to his business as a restaurateur too many television engagements which turned him into a true star of the small screen.
The problem is that, by now, it seems to be just too much.
Antonino Cannavacciuolo forced to stop
Backbone of Masterchef Italia for years now, Cannavacciuolo is among the most popular judges of the cooking show. His well-known severity is always tempered by paternal attitudes and the ability to always ease the tension with some advice and affectionate (and violent) pats on the back.
The news has been around for some time that Cannavacciuolo is about to leave his Masterchef studies forever to devote himself exclusively to the management of his restaurants, commit himself to maintaining the third star he has just won and follow other professional projects. Furthermore, the desire to start spending more time with his wife and two children, Elisa and Andrea, may have taken over.

Chef Antonino’s statements on Masterchef
“Masterchef has given me so much, even the competitors. And to think there were people who thought the program would hurt me.” said the Chef, who while running the show also formed a wonderful friendship with his colleague Chef Barbieri.
Cannavacciuolo therefore hinted that, as long as he has the opportunity, he will continue to be present as judge of the most famous cooking show in Italy. His most loyal viewers can rest assured!
