This exhibition could be likened to a duty of memory. “Antoni Campaña – Hidden Icons” at the Popular Pavilion, to be visited until September 24, transcribes the bloody history of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Died in 1989, the Catalan photographer left behind a treasure of images, as evidenced by the 5,000 photos found four years ago in his personal box. They reveal the complexity of this conflict which split Spain into two camps, the Francoists and the Republicans. This dark period caused the death of nearly 500,000 people.
