Former head of the criminal intelligence department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Valeriy Kur, suggested that the substance methadone, which was found in the blood of the deceased MP Anton Polyakov, probably he used on his own. In addition, it is possible that the people’s deputy used it as substitution therapy.
So, in the program “By the way” on 24 channel on Monday, October 11, Kur noted that such a drug has a slowing effect, therefore, the likelihood that it was administered to Polyakov secretly, that is, they tried to poison him in this way, is very small.
According to the former head of the intelligence department, in the situation with the people’s deputy, “everything was done deliberately.”

In addition, Kur said that now such pills are given in the centers as substitution therapy for those who are being treated for severe drug addiction. However, they are issued strictly under the supervision of specialists.

He noted that at present, law enforcement officers must first of all establish whether Polyakov received treatment in one of these centers or whether he decided to “jump off” on his own.
