Anton Nilsson reflects on HIF’s loss to TFF in exclusive interview

HIF lost the cup match against TFF with 1–2. Anton Nilsson played 90 minutes on the right of midfield and was involved in HIF’s goal, which meant an early lead in the match.

Benjamin Acquah won the ball in midfield and played an onrushing Taylor Silverholt for the goal, which was scored in the 22nd minute.
Skånesport asks Anton Nilsson, 20, who also participated in the counterattack with a run into the field from the right, about how he experienced the goal.
– I see that Taylor goes out wide and I try to get their centre-back in. I ran right in and then it opened up for Taylor. Acquah was able to release it easily and then he scored. A nice goal.
It’s no assist and no goal from you, but do you still feel when such a goal is scored that you were part of the important run?
– Yes, but I still felt it. If I had just run around Taylor, maybe nothing would have happened. Now it turned out as it turned out – goal – so it was nice.

You played 90 minutes in the match?
– It was a long time ago now. It felt good, but it felt a bit tough in the last quarter.
You had a few dribble raids into the box.
– That was a lot give and go, to play and knit. Especially in the second half we had a few of those, it felt good.
How have the first weeks of the season been?
– I think it went well. It’s new, with a new coach, but I think we’ve adapted well. It feels like we are on the right track.

Anton Nilsson summarizes what happened on Vångavallen’s D-plan:
– In the first half, I think we have control of the game, they don’t get into so many situations. We have some opportunities going forward, but I think we have a handle on it defensively. In the second half, they get a relatively early goal and then the match will be as it will be.
– I think we are doing well as a whole. We should have been a little more aggressive defensively. Offensively, we create chances, it’s only the last, technically, that needs to be in the final third.
