Antohomadinika: Dozens of houses were burnt, 18 families are homeless

The incident in Antohomadinika and its surroundings yesterday is a tragedy that is not often seen, but it often happens in the capital. There were two fires in the area in broad daylight. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries, although the rescue and recovery of the victims was made difficult because of the difficult areas involved. The first one happened near the place called “garage 2 000”. The origin of the fire is not known yet, but according to the reports of the residents in the neighborhood, the fire was already burning and it spread to the nearby houses that were found and all the people who were killed were trying to save each other. Firefighters from the municipality of Antananarivo-Capital in Tsaralalana also arrived at the place and the fire was brought under control a few hours later. But the real disaster was the one that happened in the IIG hangar village, Antohomadinika village. The fire raged and destroyed dozens of houses in Sector V yesterday afternoon. It’s a place that is known to have mostly wooden houses. According to the information received from the village, about ten houses have been burnt and 18 households are currently homeless as a result of this disaster. According to the latest information, the authorities concerned are still investigating the possible origin of the fire and who will be responsible for it. It should be noted that no lives were lost or injured in this incident.
