UAE stock indices did not succeed in rising in a session dominated by anticipation, the first trading session this week, as Monday was a holiday in the UAE on the occasion of National Day.
The Dubai market closed down -0.23% at 3978.2 points, with the highest rises being: Aramex 3.04%, Al Firdaus 2.33%, Aman 2.17%, and Emirates NBD 1.71%. The decliners were: Union Coop 3.23%, Union Properties 3.22%, Emaar Development 2.49%, and Ithmaar 2.40%.

In Abu Dhabi, the index fell -0.19% to 9,520.07 points, and the largest increase was: Phoenix 35.3%, Fujairah Cement 13.64%, Gulf Cement 3.8%, and Alpha Dhabi 1.36%. On the other hand, the largest declines were: Finance House 9.92%, and Umm Al Quwain Investments 7.83%. Food 5.89%, and Baladco 5.6%.
While “International” settled without change, “Phoenix” shares closed the first trading day up 37% at two dirhams, after registering a 50% rise at the beginning of the session to 2.25 dirhams, compared to the listing price of 1.5 dirhams.

UAE market indices consolidated during last week’s sessions, supported by selective purchases targeting leading real estate and banking stocks, in a week that witnessed an escalation in foreign purchases on multiple segments of company shares.
The Dubai market fell 0.1% to 3,987.75 points, and the Abu Dhabi index fell 0.17% to 9,539 points.
