ProbolinggoEast Java – The East Java Provincial Health Office reviewed the activities vaccination diphtheria bulk, in Island Gili KetapangSumberasih District, Probolinggo Regency, Friday (11/3).
This vaccination was carried out following a pediatric patient named Salsabela (7) who died after receiving intensive medical treatment at Dr. Hospital. Moh Saleh, Probolinggo City.
Previously, the boy, who was identified as positive for diphtheria, his condition had improved, and he even looked healthy like other normal children.
Health Office East Java together with medical personnel from the Sumberasih Health Center, Probolinggo Regency, held an outreach to the people of Gili Island about the dangers of diphtheria, as well as carried out mass vaccination on this island of almost 10,000 inhabitants.
“This diphtheria disease, one of the causes also comes from a slum environment and lack of sanitation,” explained Ina Mahanani, Head of Disease Prevention and Eradication (P2P) East Java Health Office.
