DENPASAR | patrolipost.com – As a measure to anticipate the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in their area, Padangsambian Village intensifies the Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) movement simultaneously, Friday (13/5/2022). This is because the addition of dengue cases in Denpasar City from early January to May 2022 reached a total of 466 cases.
Padangsambian Village Head Alit Artika explained that the PSN movement was a quick step taken by the Padangsambian Village to prevent dengue from spreading in the area. Apart from house-to-house PSN, several vacant land areas in the Padangsari area were also monitored by the team which were suspected to be breeding grounds for the dengue mosquito.
“At the same time, we educate residents that the breeding of dengue mosquitoes can be prevented with simple steps. Namely, by implementing the 3M plus movement in the household and surrounding areas,” he said.
He further explained that the 3M steps meant were draining, closing and recycling. According to him, this simple step is quite easy for residents to do, so that his party continues to encourage residents not to get tired of doing this 3M.
“As for the pluses, it is a form of additional prevention efforts, among others, in the form of keeping fish that eat mosquito larvae, mutual cooperation in cleaning the environment, planting mosquito repellent plants and so on,” said Alit Artika.
His party revealed that the Kelurahan staff will continue to carry out similar programs and carry out routinely in the future.
“So we hope that DHF cases can be minimized later,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, the holder of the DHF program at the Denpasar City Health Office, Sekar Wahyuni, stated that the total number of dengue cases in January-May 2022 reached 466 cases. The details of the number in January recorded 137 cases, February as many as 73 cases, March as many as 108 cases, and the highest cases occurred in April with 148 cases.
“The areas most vulnerable to transmission are South Denpasar District, namely the Sesetan, Sidakarya and Panjer areas,” said Sekar.
Related to this, Sekar invites the community to regularly regularly eradicate mosquito nests. Of course, so that cases of dengue can be prevented and not increase. According to him, relying solely on the government will not be effective if fogging is not balanced with the eradication of mosquito nests with 3M plus. (030)
