ASL Tse health management has engaged infectious diseases and general medicine professionals in a series of videos that will be distributed on the company’s social channels. “The goal – announces the health director Assunta De Luca – is to increase awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance starting from the youngest generations and to promote the best practices among health care professionals to prevent the spread of diseases caused by agents that the resistance to antimicrobials is reduced. ”
The corporate coordinator of Aid’s team for the prevention and control of diseases, Silvana Pilia, explains that “the issue of antibiotic resistance is at the center of the attention of the World Health Organization due to the amazing development they are taking. In Europe every year there are 670 thousand infections from bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics causing more than 35 thousand deaths By 2050, antibiotic resistance will be the main cause of death in Italy, surpassing cardiovascular diseases and tumors. ”
