About rage
Additionally, animal health authorities highlight the importance of preventing rabies. The virus that causes this disease attacks the central nervous system, causing acute encephalitis, inflammation of the brain. The germ that causes this disease is transmitted when the infected animal bites another animal or a person.
Among the animals that can be infected are all mammals, such as dogs and cats, farm animals, cattle, pigs, horses, goats, etc. As for wild animals, it affects bats, foxes, monkeys, raccoons and others.
The virus is found mainly in saliva and other fluids of animals and is transmitted through direct contact by biting, scratching, licking the skin and mucous membranes.
