Anti-Rabies Vaccination Days for Dogs and Cats in Zapala – November 14th, 2022

With the aim of reaching the greatest number of dogs and cats in Zapala, the anti-rabies vaccination days continue in different parts of the city.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 14, the René Favaloro Neighborhood will once again have a day dedicated to the vaccination of felines and canines, an activity framed in the Population Control Program.

From 2 to 5 p.m. at the CIC of San Luis 246, owners will be able to bring their pets without having to request a prior appointment, since it will be attended to in order of arrival. The Rabies Vaccination Program is developed month by month and aims to reach the 3,000 doses agreed for the current year.

The fight against rabies transmitted by dogs and cats has been declared of national interest throughout Argentine territory through the issuance of Law No. 22953, which constitutes the national law for the control of rabies.

The rabies vaccine should be applied to dogs and cats in good health from three months of age and revaccinated annually, or according to the instructions of the laboratory producing the vaccine used. The laboratories that market anti-rabies vaccines for dogs and cats in the Argentine Republic generally grant a validity of one year to the immunity conferred by this vaccination.

According to estimates, it is estimated that in Zapala there is one pet for every two inhabitants, so the non-human population can be deduced at around 20,000.
