Anti-jihadist operation in Malaga capital that ends with two men arrested accused of a crime of terrorism. It’s about a Moroccan citizen and another native of Melilla as confirmed to the SER sources of the investigation. The operation has been directed by the magistrate Ismael Moreno from the Court of Instruction number two of the National audience that ordered this Friday, around two in the afternoon, the deployment of the elite unit of the Civil Guard in the Malaga neighborhood of Lagunillas.
The troops of the Rapid Action Group (RAG) they have taken the streets of these two parts of the city that have been cordoned off for practically four hours. As you can see in the images of the interventions, the arrests were carried out in a park. A white, unidentified Civil Guard van, enters a street in the opposite direction, stops and seven troops get out armed and run towards the two individuals whom they throw to the ground for their arrest.
Almost a hundred agents have acted immediately. The alleged radicalization in jihadism of these two individuals arrested who, apparently, would have been residing in the capital of Malaga for some months. According to some neighbors, in the block of flats where the operation has been carried out, they had noticed movement of people despite the fact that it is a building in a state of abandonment.
The strong deployment began around two in the afternoon. The operation, which is still open, could add new arrests. In addition, several searches have been carried out in the same building where the detainees were sheltering, as well as in two other floors in the area.
This is an international operation where it is analyzed whether these two individuals they could also have some kind of relationship with other radicals identified in Spain and in other European countries and, therefore, form part of some jihadist cell. The agents have intervened documentation that will now be analyzed in detail.
It is expected that this Saturday, the two arrested men will be transferred to the court of the National High Court, in Madrid, to testify before the magistrate in charge of the case. The operation has generated concern among the residents of this area of Malaga due to the strong deployment of Civil Guard agents with camouflaged vehicles, numerous weapons and with cordoned off streets to prevent the passage of people.
