Jakarta –
The Coordinator of the Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman, commented on the alleged hacking of the KPK chairman’s cellphone Firli Bahuri. He considered the alleged hacking of Firli’s cellphone super funny.
“Actually, I’m reluctant or lazy to comment on this, because this is something that’s really, really super funny,” said Boyamin when contacted, Tuesday (11/4/2023).
Boyamin was surprised that Firli’s cellphone could be hacked. He suspected that the cellphone was hacked by Firli himself.
“Can the cellphone of a KPK chairman be hacked? I’m afraid it will be hacked by himself,” he said.
Firli’s Phone Hacked
The KPK said that at this time there had been a hacking of cellphones belonging to one of the KPK leaders and KPK employees. The KPK said that the problem was currently being handled.
“That is the case, what is currently happening, since (10/4) morning the cellphone of one of the KPK leaders and employees has been hacked. This problem is still being handled by KPK IT for recovery. The KPK is also coordinating it with the Ministry of Communication and Information,” said Head of KPK Reporting Unit, Ali Fikri, to journalists, Tuesday (11/4).
Ali said the hacking of the cellphone of one of the KPK leaders had occurred since last Monday (10/4). According to a detikcom source, the cellphone of the KPK leader who claimed to have been hacked was the cellphone belonging to KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.
KPK Leadership Response
KPK deputy chairman Alexander Marwata admitted that he did not know anything about the alleged hacking of KPK chairman Firli Bahuri’s cellphone. Alex said that Firli had not contacted his number for a long time.
“I don’t know if it was damaged or hacked,” said Alex at the ACLC building, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/4).
“But what is clear is that Mr. Chairman’s cell phone has not contacted me for a long time, maybe it is broken or something,” added Alex.
