Anthony Sinisuka Ginting failed to reach the last 16 of the Japan Kumamoto Masters 2023 after losing to Weng Hong Yang at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium, Wednesday (15/11).
Ginting 16-21, 21-18, 17-21 in 79 minutes. Ginting can dictate the game. However, Ginting finished with a smash shot that left the field after first hitting the lip of the net. Weng leads 10-5.
A long rally ensued. Weng gives the ball responsibility. However, instead of smashing, Ginting made a drop shot to reduce the deficit to 7-11.

Two consecutive mistakes were made by Ginting after the interval. That mistake also made Weng equalize at 15-15. Weng’s mistake in using the ball in front of the net gave Ginting a 21-18 lead in the second game.
In the third game Weng came back with a 3-0 lead. Ginting equalized the score at 4-4.
The fierce duel continues. Weng leads 7-5. Ginting’s shot failed to cross the net, giving Weng an 11-7 lead in the third game interval.
Weng continued to add points after the interval, while Ginting’s addition of numbers was slow. Ginting’s ball was hit by Weng to lead 15-9.
Ginting managed to catch up with 17-19 after winning four consecutive points. However, Weng’s sharp smash gave him a 21-17 lead over Ginting.
