Anthony Hopkins reveals what he wants his next role to be

When meeting Pierce Brosnan, the legendary actor did not hesitate to take a photo and share it on social networks, but adding some mischief, as Anthony Hopkins jokes about being the next James Bond.

Created by novelist Ian Fleming in 1953, Bond is a Secret Intelligence Service agent with the code number 007 who travels all over the world to stop various global threats usually carried out by a maniac villain.

The film franchise began in 1962 with Sean Connery, and has spanned 25 films and six different actors.

Brosnan first began portraying Bond in the 1995 film “GoldenEye,” which received rave reviews and grossed more than $ 350 million at the worldwide box office. Brosnan continued with the role in three more films, later being replaced by Daniel Craig.

To close out his weekend, Anthony Hopkins jokes about being the next James Bond with a photo along with fellow Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan.

The actor from ‘The Silence of the Innocents’ jokes about his “candidacy” to take the role of Bond on the big screen.

Although it may be seen as a joke, after the departure of the late Sean Connery from the role, the producers began looking for a new star for the role of Bond, among the candidates were Burt Reynolds, Adam West and Hopkins himself.

But nevertheless, Hopkins turned down the role on the grounds that it was not the most suitable for the material.

Hopkins was subsequently offered the villain roles in both ‘GoldenEye’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, but turned down the latter to work on ‘The Mask of Zorro’.

While the two actors have never met on the James Bond franchise, one can only hope that a producer will see the potential to bring the stars together in a future project. For the moment, fans can wait Daniel Craig’s last appearance as the spy at the premiere of ‘No Time to Die’ which will premiere on October 8.
