Anthony Ginting Falls in the Top 16 Round

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting stopped in the last 16 of Indonesia Masters 2023. He lost to Shi Yu Qi in two straight games 19-21 and 16-21.

When competing at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (26/1/2023), Ginting and Shi Yu Qi fought tight in the first round. The chase for points occurred until the score was 19-19.

Shi Yu Qi took the first game. He was able to get two additional points to beat Ginting in 20 minutes with a score of 21-19.

The second game started, Ginting was three points behind at the start. The score for Ginting vs Shi Yu Qi was a 2-2 draw, the Chinese players got three additional points.

Ginting can rise to cut the distance by adding two points. Ginting’s drop shot made it 4-5. Shi Yu Qi added points to change the score to 4-6.

Ginting was behind by five points at 4-9, but during the interval the score margin was only two points 9-11.

Trying hard, Ginting was finally able to equalize to 13-13. After winning 14-13, Ginting fell behind again after Shi Yuqi won two consecutive points to change the position to 14-15.

In the remainder of the second game, Shi Yu Qi was not caught up again. He conquered Ginting with a score of 21-16.

Indonesia has passed 17 representatives in the round of 16 for the Indonesia Masters 2023. There have been two ‘civil wars’ in the matches of the last eight. Jonatan Christie vs Shesar Hiren Rhustavito and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin against Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan presented the duel between the Indonesian players.
