Unplayable at the start of the 2024-25 season, Anthony Davis does not have many pet peeves in the NBA. However, this night, AD had to face the man he had never been able to beat in his career: Kings interior Domantas Sabonis. It’s now done!
He did it! Anthony Davis did it!
With the help of an exceptional LeBron James in the final quarter, AD finally got the better of Sabonis in an NBA basketball game. The Lakers indeed won 131-127 that night, Davis even putting the lid on with a very big 3-pointer in the last minute then the decisive free throw.
Before this victory, Anthony Davis had lost all of his ten matches against Domantas Sabonis.

Even if he took a big poster from the Lithuanian interior, AD left with a smile, without forgetting to pay tribute to his former pet peeve.
“He’s a great player. An All-Star. There’s a whole Netflix documentary about him (laughs). He’s one of the best interiors in the League.” – Anthony Davis on Domantas Sabonis
More important than this first AD victory against Domas, the Lakers are now three wins in three games this season. Three victories against three competitors from the West, namely the Wolves, the Suns and therefore the Kings. New coach JJ Redick could hardly imagine a better scenario for his debut.
