And to think that he wore the neighbour’s sweater for several seasons. For half a decade, before turning to the microphones, Anthony Davière defended the colors of the US Annecy-le-Vieux, at the same time when he tore himself away to catch an ES baccalaureate in remedial school Berthollet in Annecy.

“At the time, it was the derby for me. Today, I don’t make an effort to be objective on the air. I am not a supporter but I am attached to the club because it is that of my city, ”he describes. So, at Prime Video , he quickly raised his finger when it was necessary to find candidates to stuff himself with the matches of the promoted, in his grated stadium as elsewhere. So much so that the adopted Haut-Savoyard, born in Biarritz, commented on almost half of the FCA meetings this season. “During Pau – Annecy, Annecy supporters said on social networks that I was pro-Pau, that’s fine with me,” he smiles, anxious to remain impartial.

“Comment on a goal that will change the life of a club, a region”

To get there, to make his way to the antenna of the main broadcaster of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Davière has already had a good range of experiences. A journey that began with internships at Dauphine Libere then quickly to television at 8 Mont Blanc.

“When in high school I was asked what I wanted to do, I didn’t say journalist but commentator. I have always been guided by football with the desire to experience emotions, strong things. For me, it’s accompanying a powerful moment, commenting on a goal that will change the life of a club, of a region, ”he ignites.

A Five that opens doors

After his studies in Nice, he went through 20 minutes in 2012 but declined a job in Marseille. “My goal was to go to Paris and become a commentator, it was my dream,” he confirms. Its trajectory is no doubt rocking… on a Five site, invited by Vincent Rousselet-Blanc, creator of the site In Full Skylight , for whom he conducted commentator interviews. He thus lands a test at Orange which then broadcast L1 and L2 on tablets and smartphones. “It happens in a cataclysmic way, he laughs. I had never done that and I was super stressed. »

We will give him his chance a few months later. “I understood the thing better. After a few minutes I was told it was good. » Let’s go for the comments in the cabin for Orange then a period between beIN Sports et Eurosport where he comments on his first match at the stadium, a Caen – Paris Saint-Germain in December 2015. He was launched.

At 32, Davière is still only at the beginning in an environment where places are expensive. “I still have everything to comment on, I want to do everything, I am closed to nothing. But I would be proud to be able to comment on the L1 at the stadium in the long term, that’s what has always made me dream, more than the foreign championships. I’m partly in it, you have to be patient. »

FC Annecy aims to maintain, Davière perhaps a little more.

The day he… almost gave up

Football dingo, Paris supporter and fan of “somewhat special players, the latest n°10s, a bit slow but who see ahead, who bring a certain grace to the game”, Anthony Davière dreamed of being a professional player “like everyone else “. Well, not very long anyway. “I quickly realized that I didn’t have the guts enough for that. I was a good player but who didn’t hurt himself, ”he admits. With Annecy-le-Vieux, among young people, he played matches with future major players in the rise of FC Annecy, such as Nicolas Garby, Jean-Manuel Ribeiro, Etienne Julliard or Jordan Goddet. During his studies in Nice, he subscribed to La Populaire Sud, to Ray, for a season and retained an affection for Alexy Bosetti. Football at the center of his life, so much so that when BeIN Sports lost the rights to the L1 in 2020 and his career was floundering, he took it into his head to coach. “I was a bit fed up at that time because things weren’t really progressing. I was planning to stop and as I was training on the side… certainly, seniors on Sunday mornings, I had decided to train myself and get coaching diplomas. I applied to the BMF in the summer of 2021 and, two days later, I was called to comment on the L2 for the L’Equipe group. It was on again.
