The droid C-3PO from the Star Wars film saga has become perhaps one of the most recognizable characters not only in George Lucas’s films, but in the entire film industry.
Actor Anthony Daniels, who played the role of the golden robot, decided to auction costumes, props and scripts that had been in his collection for several decades.
What is known
Among the “artifacts” was the Helmet head of C-3POwith whom the actor appeared in the Tusken attack scene in the first film Star Wars: A New Hope from 1977.
This item aroused great interest among collectors and it managed to get $ 843 thousand dollars, although before the start of the auction it was expected that the price for the head of C-3PO could reach 1.2 million dollars.
Sold by auction and the original third edition script signed by George Lucas Photo album and fingers C-3PO.
The actor himself commented on the separation from his rarities:
I realized that I keep all these things and it’s not that they aren’t loved, but they don’t get noticed and we don’t want them cluttering up the living room. Will I be sad to part with them? No. I’m happy that people will cherish and display them.
