Anthem: Bioware formalizes the game overhaul – News

In November, we were sending you very serious rumors about a possible total overhaul of Anthem on the side of BioWare. Today, the studio released a statement, saying that this work was a reality.

In this publication, who also crashed the BioWare site, Casey Hudson confirms thatAnthem currently undergoes a long-term overhaul, and that it will obviously take time. Within his words, a sentence acts as an admission as for the conditions under which the title was developed and released at the start of 2019:

And to do it right (this redesign work, note), we will do something that we would like to have done more: give a team time to test and iterate, focusing first on the gameplay.

In the rest of the message, the general manager of the studio looks back on the past year, all admitting that the site is still very important :

(…) The team has worked hard to improve stability, performance and overall quality of life, while offering three seasons of new content and features. We’ve also heard your comments that Anthem needs a more satisfying loot experience, better long-term progression, and a more satisfying end game. We therefore recognize that there is still fundamental work to be done to fully exploit the potential of the experience, and this will require a more substantial reinvention than an update or an extension.

(We will) reinvent the basic gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges and progression with more meaningful rewards. Creating new worlds is at the heart of our studio mission, but it is not easy. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail. What keeps us going is the support of players like you. (…)

Thus, a long project awaits the developers of Anthem, and, logically enough, Casey Hudson gives no date yet for the arrival of this version that we can now qualify as 2.0. However, let current players be reassured, because the title will continue to live through events and content updates. Thus, the appointment is already made for theanniversary of the game by the end of the month.
