The second United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Summit was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the United States, from September 18th to 19th. This is also the United Nations’ highest-level summit in the field of sustainable development. As a representative of China’s sporting goods industry, ANTA Group has signed the “Business Community in Action – Consensus on Sustainable Industrial Development” initiative, and its sustainable development practice cases have also been selected as outstanding corporate cases for this initiative.

The first batch of Chinese companies to sign the initiative pledged to take pragmatic actions to promote high-quality development, support the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and commit to the 10 sustainable development principles: including incorporating sustainable development goals into business strategies, daily operations and Within the organizational culture; encourage the development, upgrading and promotion of environmentally friendly technologies and innovations; reduce greenhouse gas emissions and significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy use; strengthen the full life cycle management of chemicals and waste; eliminate inequalities within the organization , promote inclusive development, etc. The initiative was initiated by the “Sustainable China Industrial Development Action” and invited outstanding Chinese enterprises with industry representation to sign. It echoes the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and demonstrates to the international community the firm attitude of China’s business community in shouldering international responsibilities.

Wu Yonghua, executive director and co-CEO of Anta Group, said that the sustainable development strategy is one of the core strategies of Anta Group. Anta Group has clearly defined the strategic goal of achieving carbon neutrality in 2050 and promotes the sustainability of “1+3+5” The development roadmap is implemented in the organization. According to reports, Anta Group has now established a complete ESG strategy execution system. The group’s board of directors has established a sustainable development committee, which has formed a complete closed loop of ESG practice management from strategy, goals, organization, to resources, performance and culture. From 2015 to 2022, Anta Group has achieved revenue growth of nearly 400%. At the same time, greenhouse gas emission intensity (revenue per million yuan) has been reduced by more than 40%, and water consumption has been reduced by 22%. On the production side, the group’s self-operated factories have completely eliminated the use of coal and are transitioning to clean energy at full speed. According to the results of the Standard & Poor’s Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, ANTA Group ranks over 87% of its global peers among approximately 160 global textile, apparel and luxury brand companies.

While reducing its own environmental footprint, Anta Group is also comprehensively upgrading its green supply chain management system, working with core suppliers to manage carbon emissions, and promote the application of clean energy and the layout of renewable energy. Wu Yonghua introduced that it will take three measures to improve access standards, carry out responsibility audits and empower suppliers to create an environmentally friendly, healthy, safe and efficient supply chain symbiosis platform.
