Try to see, friends, what celestial bodies are visible at night and also during the day. Of course there are celestial bodies that we can see, such as the moon, sun, and stars.

However, there are actually other celestial bodies that we cannot see directly and must use a telescope.

To find out more about this material, we can listen to the following brief explanation and work on some questions and also find the answer key.

Heavenly Object around us

The universe has many galaxies with different shapes. A galaxy is a collection of stars held together by the force of gravity. Galaxy consists of a multitude of planets that surround it. The Milky Way galaxy is a galaxy where humans live. The Milky Way galaxy is spiral in shape. In it there are very many celestial objects.

Within the Milky Way galaxy is our solar system. Our Solar System consists of eight planets revolving around the Sun. In addition to the planets and the sun, the solar system also consists of satellites, asteroids, and comets. Let’s take a closer look at our solar system.

Every planet in the solar system is in an elliptical orbit called an orbit. As long as they remain in their orbits, the planets do not collide with each other. The planets that revolve around the Sun are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Each planet rotates on its axis. The spinning of a planet on its axis is called rotation. The earth’s rotation causes us to experience alternate day and night events.

All the planets in the solar system will revolve around the sun. Therefore, Sun known as the center of the solar system. The rotation of the planets around the sun is called revolution. Each planet has a different time to go around the Sun in one complete rotation. Earth’s rotation causes changes in day and night, Do you know what you feel on Earth with the Earth’s revolution around the Sun?

Please answer question the following!

1. What is the name of the planet that is closest to the Sun?

Answer: Mercury.

2. What is the name of the planet that is farthest from the Sun?

Answer: Neptune.

3. What is the name of the smallest planet in the solar system?

Answer: Mercury.

4. What is the name of the largest planet in the solar system?

Answer: Jupiter.

5. What is the name of the planet that undergoes the fastest revolution? Why?

Answer: Mercury. Because it is closest to the sun, it has the shortest orbital path.

6. What is the name of the planet that has undergone the longest revolution? Why?

Answer: Neptune. Because it is farthest from the sun, it has the longest orbital path.

These discussions and answers can be a guide for parents in accompanying their children while studying at home.
