Musician Anssi Kela apologizes on Facebook for the problems of his Saturday gig. Kela performed on Tallink’s M/S Victoria. He says that he received feedback that the song did not belong in the front row.

– I apologize for this. In fact, part of the feedback already came during the gig, when the listeners directly in front of me gestured that the playing should be stopped when the song was not delivered, Kela writes.

Kela says that in some concert venues, the front row may be lacking in terms of sound reproduction, and that in terms of vision and atmosphere, the front row may be the best place, but the worst in terms of sounds.

To illustrate the problem, Kela has drawn a diagram that shows how the sound of the PA speakers does not always reach the front row, but the front row is left in the dark.

In some concert venues, small speakers are placed on the edge of the stage for the front row. The Victoria ship also had one, but according to Kela, it was at the ceiling and apparently didn’t sufficiently reproduce the song over the “stage mecca”.

Kela underlines that he doesn’t want to herd the listeners away from the front row, but he wants to explain how the sound reproduction is structured.

Kela advises to move a little, if the song does not sound properly.

– At our gigs, we always do everything we can to ensure that everyone has a good time. However, the conditions vary greatly between gig venues. Sometimes it belongs to the front, sometimes not.
