Anschober does not want tests for temporary workers, school opening not fixed

In order to prevent the corona virus from spreading again, Health Minister Rudi Anschober (Green) plans to carry out comprehensive tests of temporary workers and asylum seekers. “It is about people in precarious work situations, with unclear residence situations or in very cramped living conditions,” Anschober said Press on Sunday. The test program starts on July 1st.

Such “screenings” have already existed in retirement and nursing homes. “Now we go to areas where we know there is little willingness to contact 1450,” the health minister said. The test program will be presented next week. Anschober had already announced such a “broad test strategy” in the previous week in a press conference in which the well-known German virologist Christian Drosten also participated.

“Look under the carpet” before autumn

“We have to test more and look under the carpet. In good time before autumn, when the risk will increase, because then we won’t all be able to sit outside so nicely,” Anschober told the “Press am Sonntag”. In this context, he also referred to the latest antibody study from Ischgl, according to which 85 percent of those who tested positive had no symptoms. “This is a big trap and shows how necessary screenings are.”
