Genova. Ansaldo Energia finds itself in a situation of pre-bankruptcy with debts exceeding revenues by hundreds of millions of euros and if the majority shareholder, Cassa Depositi e Loans – does not recapitalize quickly, the company she will be forced to take the books to court without even being able to pay the salaries of 2400 employees between workers and clerks.
The CEO of Ansaldo Energia explained it this afternoon in front of the Board of Directors Giuseppe Marino which he immediately summoned trade unions and rsu to anticipate that in September an industrial plan will be presented that the unions call “tears and blood, with hundreds of redundancies” he explains Federico Grondona of Fiom.
If two months ago there was talk of “clouds” with the stop to the orders for gas turbines and, at the same time, to those for the conversion of several coal plants, the situation seems to have precipitated very quickly.
“Marino says it is the fault of the war but the fault lies with an unreliable CEO who in the last two years has not made the company take any new orders in Italy – thunders the trade unionist – and the green tech plan will arrive in 5 years. In the meantime we will find ourselves in 2023 with 250,000 hours of unloading and zero orders, that is, zero work and this will mean hundreds of redundancies but we are not there ”.
In the morning the unions have called an assembly in front of the factory gates and they are determined to start fighting immediately: “We have to tell the city what is happening in Ansaldo Energia and we have to defend this company as it happened years ago with the construction sites in Sestri Ponente. We will not allow him to close Ansaldo ”.
“We are closely monitoring the difficulties of this moment but we are well aware of the possibilities of development with respect to the future – he says Christian Venzano of Fim Cisl – Ansando Energia with turbo gas turbines, Ansaldo Nucleare defined as Green energy and the new company Ansaldo Green TEAC can certainly play a significant role in the renewables market and in the business of energy accumulators “. For Venzano “this situation can be buffered perhaps through tools that can lead to savings or efficiency systems together with the analysis of all the activities that can be internalized to increase working hours while also saving economic capacity. Solutions to preserve occupational protection that must not be affected in the least. Like Ansaldo Energia, the three shutdown plants could restart and focus on markets affected with less impact by gas increases. And Cdp as the majority shareholder who must believe in this leading group in the energy field: it must enter new economic resources to plan a future that can be absolutely significant. If this does not happen as Fim Cisl we are ready to undertake any mobilization action, even tough, to safeguard the company and employment ”.
“If this management thinks of carrying out a plan that makes workers pay the price, as far as we are concerned, they are very wrong, because they will not find room for discussion with us” thunders the regional secretary of Uilm Antonio What. “We will speak directly with the majority shareholder to discuss a credible business plan, which will clear the ground of any proposed dismissal while protecting the company with all its workers. It will be the task of the Union as a whole to raise the bar as Ansaldo’s survival is at stake, and jointly we should devise a plan of struggle and mobilization that will send this phantom industrial plan back to the sender ”.
