(ANSA) – BARI, 16 AUG – Four confirmations and six new faces: the mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, two months after winning the runoff, has appointed the municipal council that will support him in governing the city for the 2024-2029 term. “As promised, after a long, and I must admit at times tiring, work of discussion and discussion with the political forces that supported my candidacy, today I have made official the names of the municipal council” commented Leccese. The four confirmed councilors, although with different delegations, are Paola Romano (Culture), Pietro Petruzzelli (Local Development), Vito Lacoppola (councilor for Knowledge), and Carla Palone (councilor for Urban Livability). The other six councilors are Giovanna Iacovone (Urban and Social Regeneration): Elisabetta Vaccarella (councilor for Justice and Social Welfare and Civil Rights); Carlotta Nonnis Marzano, Councilor for Climate, Ecological Transition and the Environment); Raffaele Diomede, Councilor for Controls, Legality, Transparency and Social Anti-Mafia); Domenico Scaramuzzi, Councilor for Land Care; Diego De Marzo, Councilor for Budget and Local Taxation. Lorenzo Leonetti will support the municipal council with the delegation of the “Mayor of the Night”, who will be responsible for defining strategies for improving the urban liveability of public spaces affected by nightlife. Romeo Ranieri has been indicated for the presidency of the municipal council. “These were days – said Leccese – that required an additional effort to find a synthesis between the different sensibilities and requests, but I am satisfied with the result. In fact, the priority objective, which I had already set myself during the electoral campaign, that of giving life to the broad field of the center-left, was achieved through an intense discussion with all the political forces and all the actors in the field, who put the good of the city before the expectations of one party”.
