Today the corona dashboard, the site on which all kinds of data about the coronavirus could be seen at a glance, came to an end. The website launched in the summer of 2020 and has steadily expanded throughout the pandemic.

Initially, only the number of people who tested positive and the number of hospital admissions were reported, but later figures were also added to the dashboard about, among other things, the number of vaccinations and the most common virus variant. The corona dashboard also contained the risk level, which indicated how quickly the virus was spreading. This was later replaced by the ‘corona thermometer’,

The corona pandemic is now far behind us and so the dashboard is no longer necessary. Fewer and fewer people are looking at the dashboard and there is less and less data to share.

“The corona crisis is over and the need for a dashboard that only provides information about corona has decreased,” the government reported on the dashboard site today. According to the team behind the dashboard, it was “a useful and important instrument for residents of the Netherlands”.

Many organizations also made extensive use of the data, such as the GGD, other health organizations and various media.

The corona dashboard site now refers to the weekly corona data from the RIVM. Anyone who would like to take another look at all the data on the dashboard can visit the special archive website of the Ministry of Health. There are old versions of the dashboard to see again.
