Anouk (44) is overwhelmed by all the reactions she has received from her followers, she says in a video on Instagram. The singer is currently still in a resort in Morocco and does not dare to take the plane home because of her asthma.

The singer says that she has received offers to fly with people to the Netherlands, but that these airline tickets still have a hefty price tag. And she doesn’t have that money. She explains why: “Sometimes I only do six gigs in a year.” Every year she checks with her accountant how often she will perform to make ends meet every year and that’s all she does.

In addition, she mainly performs in the summer months. “It’s also going to be that many of these gigs are going to die this summer. The money I was going to earn this summer may also be canceled.” Where some artists have built up a large buffer, Anouk has not done that. “Now is not the time to throw such amounts. Anouk has also heard that a state of emergency has been declared in Morocco. People are only allowed to go out the door to get groceries or medicines. “That also means I can’t go out again to run around the park. So I’ll probably have to go up and down the stairs to lose my energy.”
Despite her heartbreaking situation, it also delivers something beautiful. She went to the resort to make music and now she has succeeded. “I can’t complain, because my health is good and everyone is healthy at home. Maybe I can play some music later. I’m writing anyway.”
