An employee of the Zaanstad Judicial Complex was fired in early October because she had a relationship with a detainee. The Judicial Institutions Service (DJI) confirms this to NH News. It is the second notable incident in the prison in a short time.
The DJI only wants to say to the regional broadcaster that there was an “unprofessional relationship with an (former) detainee”. The woman was fired when this came out.
Prison staff say the woman in the East 500 ward “was messing around with a crook,” a source told NH Nieuws.
The fired woman was a correctional facility worker, according to the source, who was responsible for the custody and security of detainees. In addition, ‘PIW officers’ like them guide the detainees as mentors.
Sexual acts
Less than two weeks after her discharge, it was revealed yesterday that a legal aid provider was caught in a doctor’s office by a prison employee for sexual acts with a prisoner.
“I saw her head go up and down and when I caught her, she got up and wiped her mouth in a weird way,” reads a report from the postal worker, who is owned by NH News. A DJI spokesperson confirmed the incident.
The director of the Zaanstad Judicial Complex contacts the dean of lawyers. Presumably the woman worked as a lawyer at a law firm.
More employees wrong
According to the regional broadcaster, there are several known cases of (sexual) relationships in Zaanstad prison. Last year, a daughter of a manager, who worked as a warden, was fired because of a relationship with a detainee. In 2019, an intern was released from prison because she had a relationship with a prisoner.
