Another wrong test at the Pasteur Institute: WHO seized for investigation

A new scandal of false negatives splashes the Pasteur Institute of Dakar, with tests which proved to be wrong, on sailors from Dakar and Abidjan.

The laboratory further distorted the results of virological tests carried out on sailors from Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.

According to Direct News which provides the information, 66 sailors from Dakar and Abdjan were tested positive after their arrival on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles, despite the presentation of certificates attesting to their negativity issued by the Institut Pasteur .

One person, who presented suspicious signs to health officials, forced the authorities to test the new arrivals. The Seychelles health authorities, who deplore shortcomings in the methods of taking samples from the Pasteur Institutes of Dakar and Abidjan, will seize the WHO for the opening of an investigation.
