Another Trønder dueled in tonight’s “The Voice”

So far already five Trøndelag players advanced to the next round of the singing competition.

Friday night it was Axel Frønes (31) from Åfjord’s turn to duel, in the penultimate duel program this year.

Taken to bed by the moving stories

Axel dueled with Goda Levickaite (20) from Seim in Nordhordland. Together they sang the Emma Steinbakken song “I will never forget you”.

Prior to the duel, Goda said that Axel’s blind audition was “the sickest thing she had seen”.

– I sat and thought, my God, do not laugh, sort of.

And mentor Matoma was especially moved on Friday night, not only by the performance of the two, but also by the fact that both Axel and Goda sang for grandparents who have passed away.

– It is very great to be able to honor someone who has meant so much to you throughout your upbringing, with such a performance. There is no one who can take from you, and is completely magical. I was then taken to bed by the two moving stories there, Matoma said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

– Perhaps one of the toughest choices

But it still did not last all the way for Axel in the duel. On Friday night, mentor Matoma chose to take Goda on.

– In your own way, you are both so nice, and this is an extremely difficult choice. Maybe one of my toughest choices, but I have to make a choice. My gut feeling says I have to go for Goda, said Matoma.

None of the other mentors chose to “steal” Axel, and with that, the “The Voice” journey was over for the Trøndelag man.
