Another station building escaped demolition. Frofa buys the forest

The change of name must be approved by the representatives of Břeclav before submitting the application to the Railway Authority.

The manufacturer of chemical products Fosfa Břeclav will buy the dispatch building at the Boří les station on the line from Břeclav to Znojmo. The condition of the purchase, however, is its renaming to the station Břeclav – Fosfa.

It is a building for the demolition of which the Railway Administration announced a competition worth 400,000 crowns. “Only the shell container was to remain in its place to accommodate the necessary security equipment. This step would destroy the station as we know it today,“The city of Breclav said in a press release.

The Fosfa company turned to the Railway Administration, which came up with the intention of buying the building. At the same time, it offered the Railway Administration the allocation of a room for the necessary security equipment. The purchase of the building and its subsequent reconstruction is conditioned by Fosfa by changing the name of the railway station to Břeclav – Fosfa, with which the city council must agree. The change of name must also be approved by the Railway Authority. In the Czech railway network, the names of stations or stops according to companies are rather an exception, there is, for example, Dobrovíz-Amazon or Jihlava-Bosch Diesel.

It is a way that will help us preserve a beautiful building, which, after reconstruction, will be a pearl on the way along the historic train from Břeclav to Lednice. At my request, it was agreed that in case of approval of the change of the name of the railway station to Břeclav – Fosfa, in order to preserve the local nomenclature, the inscription “Boří les” will be left on the building of the railway station,“Mayor Svatopluk Pěček explained. “All costs resulting from the change of the name of the railway station will be covered by the initiator of the change, ie the company Fosfa, “ added Pěček.
