In Miami Beach, the extension of the curfew has once again led to fights between the party crowd and the police. Officers used pepper spray to keep the crowd in check. At least twelve people have been arrested.
The arrival of crowds of tourists is leading for days to chaos and disturbances in the city. Since last month, more than a thousand people have been arrested, dozens of firearms have been seized and at least five officers have been injured.
Spring break
Florida is one of the few states where everything is open. Also attracts the spring break, the traditional spring break, every year thousands of American students go to the nightclubs in the famous seaside town.
Last year, the partying mass sparked a series of corona outbreaks. To keep the situation under control now, Miami Beach authorities declared a state of emergency last weekend. No one is allowed to take to the streets between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. without a valid reason. The beaches and entertainment area are also off limits.
