“Club Brugge will be very happy with 18 million,” Franky Van der Elst said this week about a possible move for Andreas Skov Olsen. But when they come knocking from the Premier League, you can always expect more. And that seems to be happening.
Forest Olsen acquired from FC Bologna at the beginning of 2022 for around 6 million euros and is of interest to several clubs. At Bruges, Skov Olsen quickly made an impression and became a decisive player with 46 goals and 26 assists in 115 games.
Despite his talent, the club is not happy to leave because of his inconsistent performances. Skov Olsen was tipped to leave for a while last summer, but partly because of his mediocre European campaign, there wasn’t much interest.
Feyenoord made another attempt at the last minute, but Bruges decided not to sell him as there was not enough time left to find a replacement. The Danish attacker is now in the final year of his contract and despite a dip in form, the scouts are still keeping an eye on him.
Tottenham Hotspur are the most interested and recently sent some of their top scouts to their Champions League game against Aston Villa to watch him play live.
Sevilla and AC Milan also followed the match, but Spurs seem to be the most determined in their plans. Club Bruges therefore they can hope for a substantial transfer fee that will be significantly higher than the initial investment of six million euros for Skov Olsen. Over 18 million?
