Series Secret Invasion Marvel on Disney + will unsurprisingly bring back another SHIELD agent alongside Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.
If the series Secret Invasion will bring a lot of new faces to Marvel – including those of Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo and Killian Scott -, it will also mark the return of a few characters already inscribed in the MCU, starting with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull Talos. To counter the secret invasion of the Skrulls, introduced in Captain Marvel, the boss of SHIELD, or at least what remains of it, will however be able to count on another member of the organization.
Without much surprise, Deadline announced that Actress Cobie Smulders to reprise Maria Hill role, the right-hand man of Nick Fury who was replaced on Earth by Soren, Talos’ wife, and is most likely with him in the spaceship at the end of Spider-Man : Far from Home.

Even though his character has remained in Fury’s shadow, this will be his seventh appearance in the MCU after his introduction in Avengers, and his return to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Endgame, Far from Home and more recently the animated series What If…?, not to mention the few episodes of the spin-off Marvel: Agents of SHIELD in which she participated.
The character is therefore part of the scenery and never came to the fore, remaining under-exploited despite his many abilities, especially in combat and shooting. Secret Invasion so maybe the opportunity to take an interest in the agent, which might even gain popularity with a slightly more substantial story arc, like Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) had the opportunity in WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
First Look at Nick Fury in Secret Invasion
Since Nick Fury will be back in theaters in The Marvels, Following Captain Marvel which will bring together Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, it is possible that Maria Hill will follow in her footsteps again and also find her way back to the theaters. Unless the Disney + series is actually a way out for the character. For that, we will have to wait for the release on the streaming platform, scheduled for 2023.
