The official maximum prices for petrol rise sharply on Tuesday. Petrol 95 (E10) goes above 2 euros per liter for the first time, petrol 98 (E5) above 2.20 euros, the FPS Economy reports.

Petrol 95 E10 adds 9.2 euro cents per liter to 2.025 euro per litre. Petrol 98 E5 is even 16.1 euro cents more expensive to 2,201 euro per litre. The price for diesel remains unchanged.
The legal maximum prices depend on the fluctuations of the quotations of oil products on the international markets. They have increased due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The federal government has implemented a temporary reduction in excise duties on fuels, at least until September 30. Without that intervention, the price would be much higher.
