Another record. More than 900 coronavirus infections have been added on incomplete Friday Home

Prague The increase in covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic by evening was again a record tonight, with 908 more infected by 18:00. That’s more than ever before from the start of the epidemic in March until September 8. This follows from data on the website of the Ministry of Health.


Friday’s number of newly confirmed cases by evening is almost two hundred higher than in the same period on Thursday, when a record 1,382 infections were recorded for the whole day.

A record 275 confirmed cases of coronavirus increased in Prague in 24 hours. So far, 6878 people have fallen ill in the capital, 4653 have been cured, and 114 victims have been killed.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are almost 120 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in Prague in the last seven days. Only the districts of Plzeň-jih and Pelhřimov are worse off.

Increases in those infected throughout the Czech Republic were reflected in the traffic light, which determines the degree of risk of infection. According to the Ministry of Health, there are five other districts in the second orange level of risk together with Prague, the green level of alert applies in 40 districts instead of the current ten.

Despite the high increase in those infected, hospitals in Prague have seen only a slight increase in the number of patients with coronavirus in recent days. Most of them set aside beds for covid patients. For the time being, patients with a severe course are counting in units and some of the beds are still free.

Since March 1, when the first cases of coronavirus infection appeared in the Czech Republic, 33,322 infected patients have been recorded. About two-thirds of them recovered from the disease and 448 people with covid-19 died.
