Valve may include a new character in the Fallen Crown storyline, which became available to Dota 2 users with the release of the update of the same name. Previously, data miners have repeatedly found references in the game files to Bird Samurai, a samurai bird that fits perfectly into the theme of the current story.
The last time a reference to this hero was found in the Dota 2 client was in December 2023. Then datamancers noticed only the name of one of the abilities – Avian Assault – but it had already appeared in the game files along with other character skills and sketches of their icons.

These drawings appear to depict the Bird Samurai itself – an anthropomorphic bird with a beak and head feathers, but no wings. Such creatures were just shown in the comic book, the story of which precedes the events of “The Fallen Crown”. There they were called “non-flying” – these creatures do all the dirty and hard work in the Creepy Nest. At the same time, as it turns out later during the passage of the Crownfall story campaign, this people have their own secret army – fighting monks, who are called kasurai.

Bird Samurai is obviously a warrior and is visually distinguished from the average non-flying one in the Eerie Nest only by the long feathering on its head. It may turn out that he is part of the ranks of the kazurai or even leads them. So far, no evidence of this has been found, however, the story of “The Fallen Crown” will develop gradually – perhaps new information about the hero bird will appear with the release of the next acts.
The Dota 2 update “Fallen Crown” was released on April 19. With its release, arcana for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, as well as themed chests, became available, but the expected gameplay patch was never released. You can read more about this in the material.
