The girls, aged 17 and 18, were in the Thuringian city of Gera on a student exchange. It is said that the act happened last Sunday, November 12, between five and seven in the morning, when the girls were returning from a dance event and walking along Heinrichstraße and Clara-Viebig-Straße.
According to the testimony, two men who did not know them came. Later, other men joined them and the two schoolgirls were taken against their will into an apartment where they were raped, written by the website mdr.de citing a police report.
The girls were taken to hospital for examination and a criminal complaint was filed. After a year, the police managed to identify several suspects and the public prosecutor filed a lawsuit against three Syrians aged 22, 25 and 30, said the police.
The youngest of the three has not been named by police.
According to Bild newspaper, up to eight men were involved in the rape. The three accused were supposed to have raped the girls, while the others looked on. It is not even clear if they were identified.
