Another major oil discovery off the coast of Suriname

Apache Corporation and Total SA today announced a major oil discovery off the coast of Suriname in Block 58. The Kwaskwasi-1 well was drilled using the Noble Sam Croft (photo) with Apache as operator with a 50% work interest and Total with a 50% work interest.

This third consecutive discovery off the coast of Suriname confirms a world-class hydrocarbon source. The fourth exploration perspective in block 58, Keskesi East-1, will be drilled immediately upon termination of operations at Kwaskwasi, the company says.
