Nico Hischier has to take a longer break again. The captain of the New Jersey Devils is absent for around three weeks after an operation on his nose.
Hischier suffered the injury in the game against Washington Capitals in late February. A distracted puck after a shot by his teammate PK Subban hit him in the head.
The 22-year-old from Valais remains unlucky. After a fibula fracture in December and after he was also put on the Covid list, he made his season debut just four weeks ago.
Like Hischier, the entire team is not doing as they wish this season. In the ranking of the East Division, the Devils are second to last.
